Rowland R. Hoskins

My wife and I have four children and seven grandchildren. I retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Major in July 1976 and began farming. My initial farm operation was strictly cash grain. I later added a cow-calf operation, which was liquidated in 1981 due to the death of my partner. In 1984 I started a farrow-to-finish hog operation and chose to liquidate it in late 1998.

I started working for UMS in April 1998 and since then I became a crop insurance agent. It is my pleasure to work with Bob and Laura as brokers at UMS; I continue to learn about the many aspects of the brokerage side of agriculture, as well as crop insurance. Working with farmers throughout the U.S. has also been enlightening. I look forward to helping producers market their production, as well as provide assistance in regard to crop insurance.
